Finding a Niche

Niche- A situation or activity specially suited to a person's interests, abilities, or nature
A focused, targetable part of a market.

Life is like a market. What ever we do, how we do it that makes it different from others that makes us stand out and makes us, our product, attitude, way of life to be an exemplary one – of course for a better society and world as a whole.

At a glance I just look at how some people, companies have tried to create the niche for them selves and I it is good to emulate and do like wise.

Looking at some companies in the US seen as pioneers, it takes someone to take a critical look and then come up with a solution. An entrepreneur came up with an idea of how railroad companies were been underpaid by their customers-this customers ranges from oil companies to post carriers, tourism companies and manufacturers. He even looks and develops a way to provide services with super efficiencies not only in increasing the revenue of the rail company but to deliver a good service as well. Now this entrepreneur is a fortune 500 company in USA and the biggest IT solution owned by an Africa-American.

Federal Express finds a niche by doing an overnight mail delivery that is faster than the US post office daily mail. Result- people were ready to pay for such they made sure they fill a void and they fill it well in postal business.

AT&T had the monopoly before MCI came into telecommunication. MCI came and broke the monopoly with Long Distance Discount Service.

An entrepreneur famed to be ‘British by birth, but American by mind’ started an airline Virgin Airline and introduces various ways of letting people meet up with their appointments, booking of tickets and affordable price and gave The BA (British Airline) a national carrier the biggest completion and moved from been a competitor to becoming the main market holder in the business in UK.

A young man named David in the bible gave the big man Goliath a run for his life with courage and good selection of nice smooth stones that he uses in capitalizing on the little opening he discovers in the helmet of the giant (1Sam 17) this act later made him to become the King (Saul) in-law and subsequently the King of Israel.

These entrepreneurs with their passion and resilience, looks for and find the void or niche and they build their entire carriers on it, while some use it as a stepping stone leading into some other business venture.

It does not come with a bang.
Patience is necessary, Crawl before you walk, you can then break into a RUN.
